Position Summary
We are looking for a Commercial Development Manager to develop the Category agenda for all trade channels including E-commerce to support long-term Category growth and profitably increase market share based on shopper and customer requirements.
A day in the life of a Commercial Development Manager
Accountable & Responsible for driving the Commercial Planning (ICP) process by identifying key opportunities (incorporating understanding of shoppers, category, customer, competition, channel, and external environment) and developing a commercial activity calendar for the Category.
Accountable & Responsible for defining strategies and plans that deliver Category/sub Category growth based on consumer, shopper, and customer requirements (including E-commerce).
Accountable & Responsible for identifying priority channels for the Category/sub Category and working with Channel Managers to recommend tailored Category Channel plans in line with overall market strategy.
Accountable and Responsible for developing the in-store vision of success (Perfect Store) for the Category/subcategory in each channel, recommending actionable in-store solutions to support the in-store vision, and supporting its implementation while continuously reviewing the effectiveness of our in-store actions.
Accountable and Responsible for monitoring promotional trends, initiatives, and competitor actions by Category/subcategory, priority channels, and strategic customers, and identifying and recommending promotional opportunities.
Accountable and Responsible for recommending clear promotional guidelines based on shopper understanding and current market knowledge, ensuring promotional investment is properly evaluated.
Accountable for proposing optimal Total Trade Spent (TTS) budgets for the category by channel based on ICP, ensuring all TTS investment is properly reviewed and evaluated.
Accountable for collaborating with the Brand Team in developing an optimum pricing strategy that fulfills shopper and trade/customer expectations.
Accountable and Responsible for preparing and implementing new product trade launch plans and conducting pre- and post-evaluations.
Accountable and Responsible for recommending winning commercial propositions for the category and effectively communicating these to the Customer Team and Sales Operation team as appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to all company principles and policies.
What will make you successful
Bachelor's Graduate with 5+ years' experience in Trade Marketing and/or Marketing with Sales experience.
Demonstrable record of success in a customer-facing role (not limited to Key Accounts). Understands customers and the selling process.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Problem-solving attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
Analytical, data-driven mindset, and detail-oriented.
