Commis Cook / Chef

In Grand Orient Hotel Perai Penang, the primary duties of the commis cook / commis chef are to prepare, cook and serve food, while maintaining the highest possible quality and meeting agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are met at all times

Reports to: Head of Food & Beverage / Assistant Manager

Job Scope :
1) Preparing food for service, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
2) Maintaining a clean and organized work station
3) Assist in food preparation and presentation
4) Stock and restock kitchen items as needed
5) To monitor stock movement and be responsible for requisitioning items for your station, acceptance and storage of deliveries 
6) Ensure the kitchen and food areas are clean and safe
7) Follow all safety and sanitation procedures
7) Other duties as assigned

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
• Previous Food and Beverage and/or industry experience
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations
? Able to assisting with catering duties at banquet events.
