We are looking for an experienced conservation practitioner or project manager. The job is to manage and implement Wilmar's conservation strategies and action plans, in addition to coordinating and monitoring conservation programmes and projects on the ground. Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree and background in conservation, forestry, zoology, environmental, biological sciences and/or any other relevant degrees.
Field experience relevant to High Conservation Value (HCV) assessment and conservation projects such as forest restoration, landscape conservation, community engagement/community-based conservation and awareness programme.
At least 5-8 years working experience in the related fields, especially on forest rehabilitation and restoration, community-based conservation/agroforestry, is an advantage.
Experience in building partnerships with international and national institutions for research and conservation programmes or in best management practices in the plantation landscape.
Candidates must:
Be based in a plantation (nearest town- Sandakan).
Be willing to undertake significant travelling, both locally and internationally.
Proficiency in English (written and oral), with conversation ability in Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to communicate in local Sabahan languages will be an added advantage.
Be mature, a team player, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Have a valid driver's license.
Possess good report writing, interpersonal skills, strong leadership, organising and management skills.
Be computer literate and have the ability to use appropriate technology for presentations to partners, stakeholders, and potential donors.
Be responsible and willing to learn based on the job requirements.
