About The Job
Supervise Quantity Surveyor and Contract Executive.
Review main contract and sub-contract documents including Bill of Quantities, specifications, etc. for tenders.
Provide guidance on and/or lead negotiation of prices and contracts.
Confer with and advise management of critical issues and provide suggested solutions related to procurement and contract management.
Develop, implement, and deliver procurement training and other communications related to purchasing regulations and procedures.
Prepare monthly valuations, estimates, and cost control.
Coordinate detailed work activity and project timelines.
Check, validate, and recommend contractor's interim progress payment, variations, contractual disputes, and final account for main contracts and sub-contracts.
Process consultant's fee claims; validate site valuation and measurements and attend site meetings.
Manage and monitor contract progression and updates.
Pre-qualify and shortlist contractors and sub-contractors for tender.
Research and develop new construction methods and materials.
Handle commercial awareness and monitor project budget.
Review tendering, evaluation, analysis, and tender reports.
Plan, organize, and manage site project teams and subcontractors.
Liaise with clients, architects, main contractors, consultants, and subcontractors to achieve seamless integration with the other works.
Attend meetings, both internal and external, to review planning, progress, problems, costs, and variations.
Prepare instructions, reports, and other contract documentation.
Specific responsibility as outlined in accordance with company procedures ISO 9001:2015.
Other duties as requested by immediate superior.
About The Manager/Team
The successful candidate will report to the Project Director and work alongside a young and energetic team of management.
Skills And Experience Required
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years and above experience in construction or related fields.
Understanding of financial aspects of running a project on time and on budget.
Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia with excellent communication and writing skills.
Self-motivated and results-oriented with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Good organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, resourceful, result-oriented, customer-centric with the ability to multi-task.
A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and diligence.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently.
Ability to take initiative in response to direction or instruction.
Team player, resourceful, result-oriented, analytical, and computer literate.
Willing to travel to outstation for site visits.
