MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify the psychosocial, socioeconomic and administrative needs for patients.Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out, individual or in group counseling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary.Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and look after it.Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counselors, preserving confidentiality.Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.Take active part in trainings, supervisions and support the activities manager when necessary in doing sensitization for company staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.Attend regular supervision and training sessions.Design, plan and conduct psychosocial activities relevant to identified group in the project.Work alongside psychologists, lay counselors and interpreters in order to carry out relevant mental health activities as required within the scope of the project.Flexibility to do other tasks if required by the nature of the job REQUIRED SKILLS AND CONDITIONS: Minimum degree in counselling / psychology.Registration with Malaysia Counselling Board1 year relevant working experience essential.Experience with NGO and migrants/refugees desirable.Experience in conducting/implementing psychosocial activities desirable.English and Bahasa Malaysia essential.Mandarin, Tamil and all other South East Asia languages an added advantageCompetencies: Results and quality orientation, teamwork and cooperation, behavioural flexibility, commitment to organizational principles, able to work in a multicultural setting and stress management.Availability to travel and work in different locations – frequently travel to Kedah and Perak.Additional; Candidate who is legally eligible to work in Malaysia and possess current practicing requirement.PROBABLE START DATE: 2nd January 2025
