About the role
TheCustomer Software Verification and Validation Engineer (Mobile Apps Testing)is accountable for ensuring the output of complex projects are delivered in high-quality and on time to our customers by defining, executing, and reporting tests as required. The role has an important contribution to the product's quality, reliability, and customer focus design experience as per approved functional and technical specifications within Cochlear Quality Management System framework.
The role works with V&V Lead, development teams, other V&V Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Delivery Managers, and Quality Engineers (when applicable). The V&V Engineer executes the V&V plans and partners with the development teams within a squad setup whilst ensuring the high-standard regulatory/quality compliance.
Responsibilities include:
Create test cases based on planning meetings, new feature/function's introduction, modification on existing feature/functions, and other relevant testing triggers based on approved specifications with the emphasis of customer focus experience.
Maintain and regularly report the test hardware readiness conditions for any testing activities including any test hardware that requires regular calibrations status or maintenance.
Setup correct test environment (manual/automated) as required by test definitions/Test Coverage Review minutes and escalate any potential issue related to the test hardware provision for the testing activities.
Creative and innovative thinking to debug/simplify test process/method but still maintaining the required coverage and regulatory/quality compliance.
Having teamwork spirit that ensures the team members contribute to the success of the project as well as Cochlear.
Ensure a safe work environment every day including when using any test hardware and escalate any hazard/potential hazard to V&V Lead.
Conduct peer-reviews/document-reviews for test cases, results, coverage, hardware, reports, Test Coverage Review minutes, and other relevant V&V documents.
Understanding the V&V test protocol and Test Coverage Review minutes to prepare the testing activities using required large arrays of test hardware and software combinations.
Ability to execute tests in manual/automated given framework using large arrays of hardware and software combinations to ensure functional and compliant products.
Produce reports that comply with Cochlear Quality Management System and specific regulatory standards (when applicable).
Ensure the correctness and traceability of the report ready for audit activity.

About You
To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in relevant field of computing/engineering/science.
2-4 years' experience in a full lifecycle commercial software, firmware or system testing/development environment, delivering verification and validation for consumer-facing devices in a successful product launch OR similar background studies will be highly considered.
Demonstrated experience/knowledge in executing verification processes (frontend/backend/end-to-end).
Paying great attention to detail and meeting product quality standards as well as cross-functional thinking and problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to define test conditions for given requirements and designs.
Experience/knowledge in performance and functional testing, pertaining to interface testing and a few tests automation.
Able to make technical assessments/decisions from multiple measurements across test setups.
Ideal:
Capabilities in coding languages such as Python, debugging test scripts, writing test cases in pseudo code.
Experience with electronics and electronic test equipment.
Capable of using digital oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronics measurement equipment.
Experience with test automation execution/development.
Experience in a highly regulated industry e.g., medical devices.
Fast learner, positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a thirst for knowledge with the ability to work with different layers of stakeholders globally.
