The Data Analyst reports to the Head of Finance Shared Services, and works closely with Group Finance, Corporate Accounting, Vessel Accounting, Joint-Venture, Treasury, and other Business Divisions.Main responsibilities and tasks
The position is responsible for performing the following activities:Data mining:Collect and process structured and unstructured information.Data management:Analyze data integrity for accurate data analysis.Define and implement data collection and transformation logic, selecting appropriate combinations of methods and tools to ensure data integrity while optimizing scalability and performance of the solution.Use appropriate software programs and tools, including statistical packages and programming languages to query, process, analyze, and present data and findings including required documentation.Data reporting:Develop and implement reporting dashboards and other measures of performance.Communicate information in a digestible and accessible way both orally and in writing, including creating and maintaining rich interactive visualizations that integrate various reporting components from multiple data sources.Focus on analyzing relevant data generating accurate reporting and analysis of unit's performance.Metrics and measures of performance:Provide actionable insights for business strategy.Consolidate and track improvement targets and efficiency Key Performance Indicators.Build effective and visually rich presentations/Dashboards using BI Tools (Tableau) to present data in a meaningful way.Ensure quality, accuracy, and focused analytic review.Strategic actions:Facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of strategic plans.Provide in-depth data-oriented analysis and expertise to enable successful assessment or implementation of ERP solutions.Enthusiastic in continuously enhancing current practices, models, and metrics on data management.Assist the Vice President Finance, CFO, and Head of Finance in new initiatives and non-routine tasks.Accountabilities
The position is accountable for meeting performance standards and compliance of processes, timely and accurate reporting of key metrics, and actionable improvements.QualificationsDegree in Data Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Economics, or other equivalent fields.3-5 years of relevant experience.Proficiency with financial software packages (SAP), especially MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint) and experience in BI tools (Tableau and/or Power BI) is a plus.Analytical and research capabilities, and financial understanding.A dynamic, vibrant individual who aspires to go beyond analyzing factual information to develop evidence-based actions.Proactive in learning new technology.Maintains cooperative working relationships with others in a culturally diverse environment.Fluent in written and spoken English.Sounds interesting?
