Amazon Web Services (AWS) rapidly growing and is looking for a Data Center Technician to join our growing Infrastructure Operations team. This position will contribute to the overall availability and reliability of data centre operations in order to meet or exceed defined service levels. This position entails hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and participation in an on-call rotation. All candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Prioritisation of work, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are all necessary for success. Candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and solve problems in the Data Center Space in addition to hardware and network repair. This team works in a 24-hour-a-day environment. This includes all tasks associated with rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware breakfix, software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.These activities include the following:Strong work ethics and works well in a teamWork in shifts to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).Experience using Linux and Windows systemsPC/Server hardware breakfix experienceBasic networking switching and routing experienceCable copper and fiber experienceExperience with problem ticket tracking, prioritization, and escalation proceduresExperience or basic understanding of maintenance windows / change management systems - policy, process, and procedureBA/BS in technical field or equivalent practical experienceUnderstand and follow Safety and Security policies in a workplaceAbility to lift and move 20 kg of equipmentPassionate about IT infrastructure and hardwareA day in the lifeData Center Operations Technician will be working in AWS data center and engage in physical activities related to data center operations.
