POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations of a team of shift technicians.
This role ensures that all critical services and building services are maintained to the highest standards.
The Shift Lead will ensure that shift handover reports are prepared and completed on time, guaranteeing a seamless transition between shifts.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of shift technicians, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure all data centre operations are running smoothly and efficiently during the shift.
Monitor critical services and building systems to identify and address potential issues promptly.
Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.
Shift Handover Management:
Prepare detailed shift handover reports, documenting all relevant information, incidents, and actions taken during the shift.
Ensure shift handover reports are completed and communicated effectively before the end of each shift.
Conduct shift handover meetings to brief the incoming shift on the current status and any ongoing issues.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for the shift team.
Report and document any safety incidents or near-misses promptly.
Technical Support:
Provide technical assistance and support to the shift team as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the shift.
Coordinate with the technical support team for complex problem resolution.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the shift team.
Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in data centre operations or a similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical proficiency in data centre systems and operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.
Work location is based in Nusajaya Tech Park (NTP).
