About the roleAs the Manager, Data Modelling at Hong Leong Assurance Berhad, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's data strategy and analytics initiatives.
In this full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data models that support the company's business objectives.
What you'll be doing
Identify areas where data can be used to improve business activities, defining business users' requirements.
Using the understanding of data flows, propose and implement innovative data solutions.
Develop and support the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process for data warehouse, and ensure accurate and timely data is made available for analytics and data visualization purpose.
Maintain data model continuously as modifications and enhancements are made.
Work closely with the database owners to create optimal physical data models of datasets, then create and maintain data maps and systems interrelationship diagrams for data domains and systems.
Define and create required metadata.
Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies.
Implement data models, schemas, and queries to support data analysis and reporting needs.
Make recommendations for standardization and proper data usage.
Work closely with data governance and business owners to support initiatives related to data quality and data cleansing.
Champion the usage of data in business and communicate the benefits and return on investment for application and product owners.
What we're looking for
Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in dimensional modelling, data warehousing & ETL.
Proficiency in data modelling techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
Hands-on experience with data modelling tools and technologies, such as SQL, Tableau, and Azure Data Services.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring data modelling teams.
