Job Responsibilities:
Liaise with relevant IT teams to ensure that the system is restored at the shortest time possible and thereafter to diagnose the problem and institute corrective measures.
Maintain all the database environments across Production and Non-Production database servers.
Detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, Memory, I/O, Disk Space, and other resource contention.
Perform Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Perform backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands.
Maintain/Enforce database security requirements for SQL Server.
Apply/Install SQL Server database patches and upgrades.
Responsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
Responsible for Query tuning and optimization.
Manage the formulation and implementation strategies/plans of the database system while ensuring confidentiality, integrity & availability of the systems/infrastructure.
Capacity and Usage Management – Monitor all aspects of capacity planning, performance monitoring and analyze resource utilization; and to recommend upgrades or changes to the existing system.
Availability and Performance Management – Management of database services availability, performance, events, and alerts for preventative maintenance, fine-tuning and troubleshooting.
Installation and Configuration Management – Maintenance and management of installation and configuration standards, guidelines and procedures while considering security.
Problem Analysis and Tracking – Analysis of trends, events and problems, plan and carry out preventive maintenance to eliminate recurrence.
Compliance and Integration Testing – Testing of database software or upgrades to ensure compatibility and security of the systems.
Change Management – Assess change requests for production implementation while ensuring confidentiality and integrity of information.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering or IT related disciplines.
Minimum 3 to 5 years working experience in specialized information technologies.
Expertise in one or more DBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Experience with DBA routine tasks such as installation, configuration, patching & upgrading databases.
Hands-on experience managing databases in production environments & involvement in projects.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
Proficiency in scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automating database tasks.
Experience with configuration and managing high availability solutions such as clustering, replication & failover.
Candidate with at least (1) certification below is preferred:Oracle Database 19c Administrator Certified Professional.
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM).
Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 or IBM Certified Advance Database Administrator - DB2.
MySQL Database Administrator (CMDBA).
PostgreSQL Certified Professional.
MongoDB Certifications.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator.
