Preferably as a registered and certified professional engineer (IR).

Strong problem-solving skills, creativity and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Proven experience in academic leadership, preferably as a Head of Department or Head of Program of a Computing / Engineering degree program.
Familiarity with Malaysian higher education regulations, accreditation processes (MQA, EAC, MBOT), and industry trends.
Experience in curriculum development, program evaluation, and quality assurance practices.
Broad and deep experience in research and innovation activities in a relevant field of Computing and/or Engineering.
Preferably with several years of experience working in the industry.
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Added advantage: strong written & spoken command in Mandarin.
Job Descriptions:
Attend Senate meetings, present faculty paper(s) for Senate's information/ approval and cascade relevant Senate approvals/ info to faculty members within 3 working days of the Senate meeting.
Establish the faculty's strategic plan and overall annual KPIs for the identified KRAs, and work towards achieving the KPIs through continual monitoring and evaluation and action plans.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of achieving the Faculty's yearly KPIs and report to the Senate on the status on a quarterly basis.
Lead the Faculty's efforts in branding and promoting the programmes offered by the faculty, as well as engaging with the community.
Lead the Faculty in identifying, articulating and implementing research and innovation efforts/ initiatives for non-tuition revenue generation.
Oversee the Faculty's efforts in establishing linkages with external renowned individuals/ organisations, benchmarking and international accreditation (as relevant).
Ensure updates on Faculty Organisation Chart are sent to the HR Division & ICT Division and all divisions in a timely manner whenever there are changes.
Conduct and chair faculty meetings to discuss and act on operational matters in a timely manner.
Chair the Faculty's Board of Examiners' meeting, query outliers, at-risk cases and measures taken by HOPs/ PCs.
Chair the Faculty's Appeal Board Committee.
Analyse students performance, address issues/ challenges related to student performance and report to the top management in a timely manner.
Approve new academic programmes and short courses for the faculty.
Approve the Faculty's micro-credential course(s).
Approve the APEL.C courses identified by the schools and appoint APEL.C Advisors, Assessors and Moderators.
Escalate nominations for the appointment of External Advisors and Examiners to the Senate and/ or COO for approval.
Review the report and proposed actions to be taken / justification based on the report.
Vet and consider approving nominations for the appointment of internal and external (where applicable) Research Supervisors, if there is no DD (Research).
Responsible for faculty administrative matters.
Approve Overview of Semester Planning (OSP), Semester Planning and Timetabling, optimising allocation of teaching workload for full-time academic staff and considering the appointment of part-time staff.
Approve students' credit loads before the start of new semesters per the university rules and regulations.
Approve cases of add/ drop courses per the university rules and regulations.
Oversee the overall assessment management system for all programmes within the faculty.
Oversee the preparation for and conduct of MQA audits (monitoring visit/ FA accreditation/ compliance audit).
Oversee quality assurance and compliance of all operational matters pertaining to all programmes under the faculty.
Chair the Faculty's Curriculum Development Committee (CDC), and approve/ request amendments to the curriculum revision as relevant.
Chair the Faculty's Continual Quality Improvement (CQI) committee, monitoring the running of academic programmes and closing the loop on feedback/ reports received.
Ensure that the Faculty's CQI manuals are updated, as necessary.
Oversee Faculty Orientation matters and brief new students on relevant university policies and procedures.
Approve as appropriate, deferment of studies, suspension and termination of candidature cases.
Report students at risk of not graduating on time to the Senate.
Issue credit transfer award letters to students whose application are successful.
Identify 'buddy' for new academic staff.
Evaluate performance of new staff during the probationary period.
Where applicable, verify hand-over of exiting staff is complete as per the job description.
Set annual faculty KPIs and appraise performance.
Oversee the student evaluation of lecturer's effectiveness every semester and address concerns in a timely manner where applicable.
Approve the nominations of tutors/ teaching assistants/ research assistants/ graduate assistants.
Manage Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures and escalate to HRD.
Conduct research activities, apply for research grant and publish in refereed journals.
Undertake teaching and supervision together with related duties as designated.
In the absence of the Faculty Deputy Dean, take over relevant responsibilities as and when necessary.
Undertake any other duties assigned to you by your superior.
