We are looking for a design engineer who designs jigs & fixtures and mechanical devices as engineering solutions for internal customers such as Production, Process Eng. & NPI and Quality department.
YourResponsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to:Design, manage mechanical facility, tooling, jig and fixture in order to sustain and improve all operational or production/assembly relevant processes.
Perform detail designs and drafting of detail drawings (parts drawings) on time with 3D software and upon the approval of the project manager in accordance to drawings, assembly instructions & PFMEA requirements, and forward the designs to the respective vendors and suppliers for quotations & fabrication.
Provide engineering solution to NPI team members for new launch products, tooling, jigs & fixture setup before conducting acceptance test release for mass production.
Support in establishing manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities with proper documentation (e.g. work instructions), including setting of mechanical devices, tooling, fixture setup and clamping methods.
Initiate and participate in continuous improvement processes and 6S at work environment to increase productivity and maintain safety, quality, cycle time optimization and efficiency towards meeting departmental goals.
Conduct training for production staff in workflow and the use and applications of various jig and fixture clamping techniques.
Conduct the machine/processes capability study and machine & fixtures acceptance documentation.
Provide support for internal / external process audits and ensure compliance of established process requirements in the implementation of jigs and fixtures.
Support daily tasks given by Superior from time to time.
Minimum RequirementsMore than 2 years of working experience.
Prefer Bachelor degree in Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications4 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical designs (automation, jigs & fixtures).
Tolerancing on the fixture, GD&T (Geometry Dimension and Tolerancing). Equipment Design will be an added advantage.
CNC/precision machining knowledge is an added advantage.
Organized, self-dependent and customer-oriented work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain jig, fixture and tools.
Experience in 3D CAD System (e.g. TopSolid, NX, Catia, Solidworks).
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
