Job Responsibilities:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of tools and dies.
Designing and building tools and dies using various machines and tools.
Perform Design of Engineering Experiment (DOE) and optimization of newly developed processes.
Design and prepare the tooling, inserts, jig/fixtures according to drawing specifications and support the production department on tooling requirements.
Analyze stamping processes and identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
Liaise with internal customers to fully understand stamped part design requirements and integrate these requirements into tool design.
Lead cross-functional teams to refine tooling processes, reduce cycle times, and minimize scrap rates.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to prolong tool life and reduce downtime.
Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications.
Hands-on experience in SolidWorks/Ansys, CAD, and simulation tools.
Support project tasks, such as conducting inspections, preparing cost-benefit analyses, placing orders, verifying receipts, achieving target output, performing quality control checks, preventing product holds, and collaborating with contractors.
