As a Design Manager specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, you will oversee and manage geotechnical design projects from conception through execution.
You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring high-quality deliverables while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical design projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
Supervise and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians.
Conduct site investigations and analysis, interpreting geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
Evaluate soil characteristics, rock properties, and groundwater conditions to ensure project feasibility.
Prepare and review design calculations, reports, and specifications for foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
Review and approve technical documentation and project deliverables prior to submission.
Implement innovative solutions and best practices to improve project outcomes and efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in geotechnical design and project management, typically 7+ years.
Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, site investigation techniques, and geotechnical software SAFE, STARP, and PLAXIS, and able to work with spreadsheets.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
