Objectives of the Position
The DevOps Engineer is accountable for delivering end-to-end support to the Business Process Integration (BPI) stakeholders to ensure the continuous functioning of the implemented solutions, plays a leading role in supporting and optimizing the BPI processes.
Operates in a global environment, collaborating with international teams to design and implement sustainable digital solutions for our partners.
Works closely with Technical / Business Solution Consultants to ensure knowledge transfer for newly deployed solutions to internal/external on-going support teams.
Ensures vendors deliver agreed-upon support services for our solutions in quality and time.
Owns daily operations.
These tasks include providing 2nd and 3rd level operational support, resolving technical issues, performing quality assurance checks, and interacting with business stakeholders.
The role also expands to implement comprehensive business integration projects, ensuring smooth collaboration between different stakeholders.
Additional work aspects: strategic contribution to IT architecture and cross-process digitalization efforts, interact with connectivity solutions by supporting API, micro services, generative AI and other industry-relevant technical developments.
Responsibilities
Consult and support internal and external partners when dealing with complex processes and IT application questions.
Provide Business support and training (processes, tools, reports, etc.)
where required.
Provide guidance and structure for day-to-day operational support, ensuring that external support resources have the necessary information and tools to effectively address operational issues.
Work on user and system-generated tickets that cannot be solved by external support resources, including analysis of issues, implementation of solutions, instructions, and training of affected users.
End-to-end responsibility, adapting to new requirements and learning new technologies within a virtual global team.
Consult and support IT analysis (process and/or data), mentoring, modeling, solution design, and optimization of related business processes and models.
Ability to work and navigate in middleware platforms (e.g., SAP PO, CPI, etc.).
Conduct and support the technical implementation of B2B Integration to external partners.
Ability to support strategic planning and realization.
Coordinate and execute prototyping, configuration, and testing of solutions based on BASF requirements, while ensuring quality and security aspects.
Use standardized BASF methods, tools, and reports.
Provide a deep technical understanding of standard connectivity message structures and programming protocols (supporting e.g., iDocs, XML, EDIFACT, VDA, JSON, etc.).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required in Business IT, Business Economics, or other IT relevant fields.
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in Systems Connectivity (B2B), middleware configuration (e.g., SAP PO, CPI), or ERP systems (e.g., SAP R3 or S4 Hana).
Nice to have skillsExperience in managing ongoing support.
Experience in API and Generative AI.
Knowledge in ABAP.
ITIL Certifications.
Knowledge of process and industry requirements specific to OTC, Logistics, and related processes including regulatory requirements.
