Director Of Communications

The Institute is looking to fill the position ofDirector of Communications (DOC) .
The duties of the DOC are:
To manage the Institute's Publicity, Publishing & Podcast Unit.
This unit is responsible for making the Institute's products and activities known to the world in as effective ways as possible through various media channels.
These include its many publications, its activities, and the participation of its staff in events outside the Institute.
The podcast medium is something the Institute is in the process of building up, as a channel that can stimulate public discussions on issues that concern Penang and Malaysia.
To contribute to institutional strategies for effective use of the Institute's resources and other assets such as its large network in Penang, Malaysia and beyond.
To develop a system for the Institute to diversify and increase its sources of income and financial support.
To develop processes to enhance internal communication between the various units of the Institute.
The DOC works hand in hand with the Institute's Director of Research (DR) and Director of Operations (DOO), all three reporting to the Executive Director, for the purpose of enhancing the Institute's long-term positive socio-political, socio-economic and environmental impact.
