Job Summary The Distribution Planning Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the distribution planning team, which includes Demand & Supply Planners and Shipping Officers.
The role involves overseeing inventory control, demand forecasting, material planning, and the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments.
The supervisor will ensure that all processes are accurately and timely executed, compliance with customs regulations is maintained, and continuous improvements in logistics operations are achieved.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise and manage the activities of the Demand & Supply Planning team and the Shipping team, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Team Development: Take the responsibility to develop skills and confidence of each team member as well as their ability to work independently, through regular and effective individual meetings, team meetings and daily coaching.
Demand Planning: Oversee the updating and maintenance of demand forecasts in the SAP system by collaborating with Blum subsidiaries and analyzing historical data.
Inventory Control: Monitor and adjust inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, ensuring optimal inventory turnover.
Supply Planning: Manage material requests from Blum production sites and suppliers based on forecasted demand.
Customs & Declaration Process: Oversee the activities of a team of shipping officers.
Ensuring that documentation for importing and exporting goods are accurately prepared and comply with Malaysian and international trade regulations.
Inbound and Outbound Coordination: Oversee the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments and coordinate outbound shipments to Blum subsidiaries and customers.
Data Management: Maintain accurate master data in the SAP system to support effective planning and decision-making.
Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on inventory status, forecast accuracy, and supply chain performance to senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve planning and shipping processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to import/export processes promptly to avoid delays.
Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business, or related field.
Proven experience in managing supply chain functions, including demand planning, inventory control, and shipping operations.
Strong proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems, specifically in inventory and production planning and import/export modules.
Extensive knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations, international trade laws, and transshipment processes.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English and Malay.
