Document Control Specialist I is responsible for providing world class service to Product Configuration Management (PCM) customers and business partners. Working closely with Senior Document Control Specialists, the specialist will drive PCM initiatives, programs, clean-up activities and other assignments as directed by the management team. Additionally, working with management team, they will highlight problem areas and make process improvements where possible. The specialist will be a role model in projecting and applying Zebra core values (Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability, Agility, and Innovation).
Responsibilities:
With the oversight and coaching from a manager or team lead, be able to learn and use the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system:
o Creation, enrichment, and maintenance of item master records
o Project and engineering document release
o Data Analysis and Reporting
o BOM (Bills of Material) Creation and Management
o Engineering Change Management
o Software Releases
With some oversight, provide end-to-end New Product Program Support: work indirectly and directly with Program Team members to document and release all products as required
Provide documentation support to Support Service, Custom Products, Product Marketing, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering on release and maintenance of sustaining or new products, or changes
Support the business for specific projects such as but not limited to:
o clean-up projects
o cost reduction projects
o regulatory initiatives, etc.
Maintain high level of interaction with customers, suppliers, and other team members via teleconference or in person meetings as applicable
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Business Management or related discipline
0-2 years' experience preferably in engineering, business management or operations (manufacturing) environment
Knowledge of: PLM or similar database systems and product structure (BOM) knowledge
Data Management
Business Process Improvement and Documentation
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge of ISO 9001
Intermediate skills in MS Office
Team player, self-starter and detail focused
Familiarity with Zebra products is a plus
Certification from PMI preferred
Equivalent work experience in exchange for as associates degree
