EAL Teacher
Purpose of Role
Lead a programme for students with zero or low level English in the International Primary School. This programme will develop survival and initial English language. This role will plan, deliver and assess the progress of English development and support students and parents to engage in our community.

ISP Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibility 1: New to English Language curriculum and delivery
Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to complete beginners in English.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Organize language immersion activities to enhance learning experiences outside the classroom.
Stay updated on best practices in EAL instruction and continuously seek professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibility 2: Progress of Students in their English Language Level
Assess student progress through ongoing assessment in lessons.
Design and complete summative assessment providing reports and recommendations to move out of the programme.
Provide constructive feedback to support their language development.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding progress and needs.
Key Responsibility 3: Pastoral Care and Wellbeing of the students on the programme
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and collaboration.
Communicate with parents about safeguarding and pastoral issues using the school processes and designated safeguarding lead.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification (or equivalent) preferred.
Proven experience teaching English to beginners; experience with diverse cultural backgrounds is a plus.
Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and best practices in EAL instruction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a safe and welcoming learning environment.
