ISP Malaysia
ISP Malaysia operates the Tenby Schools, Asia Pacific Schools, and Straits International Schools where we are strategically located covering the Klang Valley, Perak, Penang, and Johor within Malaysia.

Our schools in Malaysia follow the international school curriculum comprising IGCSE and A-levels, starting at the kindergarten level, while 5 of the schools also offer the Malaysian National Curriculum.
ISP EAL Teaching Assistant Role Profile
Purpose of Role
EAL staff at Tenby Schools Penang are expected to ensure high-quality educational support for all EAL students to improve English Language acquisition.
The post-holder is expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate professional manner at all times to support and foster the aims of the School and SLT.
Successful applicants will need to use initiative to produce resources that support students in mainstream classes, enabling them to access the lessons that are planned by the teachers.
ISP EAL Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities
Leading small groups of pupils within a whole class setting that is led and managed by a member of the teaching staff.
Establishing relationships with other staff members in order to support work of pupils.
Assisting teachers in developing resources for lessons to ensure accessibility for EAL students.
Preparing and developing resources for learning activities.
Reporting on the progress made by pupils.
Improving English Language acquisition across both the primary and secondary sections of the school.
Ensuring that the EAL needs of individual students are met.
Ensuring that EAL support is holistic and cross-curricular where appropriate.
Ensuring that parents have clear and accurate information about their child's progress.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Appropriate child-focused qualification (e.g., nursery nursing, teaching assistant qualification).
At least two to three years' relevant experience in a school setting (desirable).
A passion for children and a belief in the education of the 'whole child'.
High levels of professionalism and care for children.
Excellent oral and written English.
Have excellent classroom practice or demonstrate the potential to develop this.
The ability to speak Korean or Mandarin would be an advantage but is not essential.
