Purpose of Position
To assist management in the development and implementation of an effective Environmental, Health, & Safety management system to meet the present and future requirements of the organisation, including advancing the sustainability cultures and compliant with policies of MHC Malaysia and Global EHS.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function at local site assigned to facilitate the continual improvement of the EHS Management Systems, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and internal and external policies, including the following:
Partner with Plant Director in developing and implementing EHS, Sustainability, Security programs and safety culture transformation to create and sustain a safe working environment.Collaborate with other departmental leaders to improve Sustainability, Security, Safety, Health and Environmental performance towards plant's EHS goals, objectives and targets.Ensure all functions operate in accordance to the Environmental Management System (ISO14001), and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001) requirements.Advise management on compliance status and latest regulatory requirements of relevant EHS laws and regulations, including from authorities such as DOSH, DOE, Bomba, KKM, etc. Key Decisions including Responsibilities & Authority
Make the necessary decisions within the scope of local EHS Management System to comply to the objectives.Decide the applicable EHS requirements that are needed to be implemented and the related EHS processes.Decide on the training needs related to Security, Sustainability, Safety, Health and Environment. Comprehensive knowledge of EHS legal and accreditation standards.Possess critical thinking and analytical with problem solving skills.Effective written and oral communications skills.Strong business acumen and organisational skills .Passionate on sustainability and safety culture. Qualifications and Experiences
Degree in Science, Engineering or related fields.Valid DOSH Registered Safety & Health Officer.At least ten years of working experience within EHS field.Active liaison with the relevant local EHS authorities.Certified lead auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.Hands on Sustainability program management.Management role in large manufacturing plant.
