The Electrical Engineer in Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems and infrastructure within the facility. This role involves designing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with other engineering and facilities staff to support building operations and project implementations.
Responsibilities: Develop and design electrical systems and modifications for facilities projects.Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and operational standards.Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency backup systems.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards and building codes.Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols for electrical systems.Manage electrical projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project updates for stakeholders.Analyze energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.Implement energy-saving measures and monitor their effectiveness.Work closely with facilities management teams, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to support facility operations and project goals.Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance staff and other team members.Maintain accurate records of electrical systems, maintenance activities, and inspections.Update as-built drawings and system documentation as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or working towards it.2-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on facilities management or similar environments.Strong understanding of electrical systems, building codes, and safety regulations.Experience with energy management and sustainability practices is a plus.Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
