The E & I Technician performs electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities and projects. Skilled in the fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, adjustment and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic control circuits and systems.
Job DescriptionInstalls, repairs, and maintains the electrical parts of industrial equipment.
Works individually or as part of a maintenance team to successfully complete projects.
Ensure all Safety & Health procedures, electrical codes, and regulations are adhered to and maintain good housekeeping of the work area.
Correctly interprets technical documents including drawings/diagrams for proper execution of assignments.
Conducts quality assurance measures and inspections regularly for all electrical equipment & electronic instruments.
Uses electrical test equipment, gauges, and other measuring devices to test electrical equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, and project installation as per schedule.
Performs device validation and systems commissioning for new installations.
Runs wires and connections for electrical & electronic equipment.
Performs assigned repairs and troubleshooting whenever required.
Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
Takes lead and advises on the company's electrical and electronics-related matters.
Ensures safety, availability & continuous improvement of plant E&I systems.
Prepares all required equipment, which includes: back-up equipment, spares, consumables, power supplies, fabrication of brackets, tools, manuals, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Skilled worker with a minimum of 3 years' experience in E & I.
Skilled in the fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic control circuits and systems.
Experience in Process Control, Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Control (PLC), and automation-related equipment.
Good analytic skills and ability to effectively present information.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Must be an effective team player with good communication skills, and able to maintain a healthy relationship with co-workers.
Able to work with minimal supervision, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Willing to work overtime if required.
Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks.
Knowledgeable in pertinent electrical codes and regulations.
