Engineer- After Sales Services

Assist the After-Sales Service Manager to provide efficient and effective after sales services to existing customers and also involved in the implementation & execution of the upgrading contracts. Functions as a member of a team, be it a team member or team leader, and at often times, in individual assignments.ResponsibilitiesAttend to with urgency, all existing customers inquiries for plant modifications, process improvement inquiries.
Undertake regular visits to existing customers to ensure customer relationship is established / maintained at all relevant levels so as to solicit and maintain customers' confidence in the reputation of the Company products and services and to keep abreast with any new requirements from the customers.
Obtain feedback on actual plant performance and to gather information on technology & market development and provide these inputs to the After-Sales Service Manager & Engineer to develop counter strategy.
Analyze operational problems encountered during plant visits and to provide competent advice and suggestions for trouble shooting when appropriate.
To provide process calculations (mass & heat balance), prepare calculation to size (column, vessels, heat exchanger & other various process equipment, process flow diagram, plant layout) of respective process and plant as basis for the equipment design during project execution and as support for costing purposes of after sales department.
To draft and review piping and instrumentation (P & I) diagrams; to develop piping specifications and to select pipes & all fitting according to the piping class specifications.
To prepare equipment lists of required parts and equipment with the right and relevant specifications. To coordinate with the Logistics team to acquire quotations from various suppliers for evaluation. To ensure that selected suppliers are able to offer selected equipment within project budget allocations.
To support in the costing of equipment and cost control to ensure requirements are met and the price quoted are within the budget estimates.
Involved when necessary, in plant commissioning together with the engineering team in order to keep updated with the plant performance & current engineering designs within the specific customer's project.
Monitor and ensure observation of safety precautions and to execute correct engineering practices at all times so as to minimize the safety risk of equipment and workplace and compliance with the Group EHS policy.
Coordinate and prepare proposals for inquiries from existing customers for modification work or upgrading of plant if when needed.
Undertake any other assignment or tasks as and when assigned by the After-Sales Service Manager and/or the Company management.
Collate data pertaining to the characteristic/ performance of the plant before and after its commissioning.
Follow up regularly on submitted proposals and updated technical and technological and commercial parts thereof when required.
Assist the Sales Executive – Spare to clarify technical data for spare part enquiry from customers so as to enable him/her to source for supply and prepare the required quotation to customer.
Required qualificationsRelevant tertiary education in Chemical Engineering or related degree.
Familiar with plant design will be of added advantage.
Proficient in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
Demonstrated ability to take a positive, proactive approach to solving problems and highly interactive in providing customer service.
Able to work independently and a team player.
Willing to travel extensively on a regional scale basis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
