Job Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION
To assist the Senior Principal Engineer in providing technical support for highway asset maintenance and management for NSE, NKVE, SPDH, NSECL, MSSC, BKE, PB, LPT 2, and others under the Network Maintenance Management (NMM) department scope of services. Involved in the implementation of NMM core activities such as conducting condition assessment on bridges and tunnels, proposing remedial works (for HR and UUD projects), site assessment for defective bridge components, emergency response, special projects, and annual budget expenditure. Also, to assist the Senior Principal Engineer in reviewing and advising the operation team on technical matters for projects under construction such as work program, method statement, and changes of construction materials.
Responsibilities
Register project in Network Maintenance Management (NMM) Work Order Tracking System, prepare pre-construction works order, carry out design work, prepare the report and remedial work order, and follow up on work order status with the client.
Review the periodical bridge asset inspection results to ensure their conformance to the TEMAN system and prepare a periodical inspection report for submission to the client.
Provide technical advice to clients on any proposed revision to the Schedule of Rates for the maintenance works. Continuously look for state-of-the-art technology and methods to improve network condition assessment.
Provide technical advice to NMM Operation before and during the construction period. Review of contractor's final joint measurement statement and advise NMM Operation on the issuance of the additional work order.
Update status for selected bridge and Work Order issued.
Assist third-party review on new bridge proposal and effect on existing bridge asset.
Attend emergency response events and assist the Region Office/Client in preparing technical investigation reports for the event as and when required.
Undertake specific assignments from the Principal Engineer and Team Leader including site inspection, preparation of reports, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in engineering consultancy or construction works, preferably in infrastructure works.
Basic understanding of asset management principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Office/ MS Excel and basic AutoCAD knowledge.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory standards and codes.
Able to travel on short notice and be posted few days/weeks at any location in Peninsular Malaysia.
Able to be posted at regional offices for the long term within Peninsular Malaysia.#J-18808-Ljbffr
