POSITION SUMMARY:
Works with Production, Engineering and related departments to solve quality issues that occur in the AE process and customer side, coordinates quality improvement activities in AE for both manufacturing process and product quality, and ensures process ability and product quality meet AE standards and customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control manufacturing processes and monitor quality performance both internal & external, reviewing quality data with related persons regularly.
Coordinate quality improvement activities for process stability and product quality, implementing process audits and holding quality meetings.
Handle quality issues occurring in AE processes and customer side, implementing containment actions, investigating root causes, following up on corrective actions, and responding to related persons/departments.
Set up process management plans for each product and ensure they are understood and followed.
Guide related persons such as operators and inspectors on quality and workmanship standards.
Collect and analyze data to drive improvement.
Manage equipment calibration, maintain the intranet database, and control the work environment for ESD and cleanroom in the manufacturing plant.
Implement First Article Inspections and submit results to customers as needed.
Follow up on new product transfer actions.
Qualify new production lines.
Support the setup and maintenance of the Quality System.
Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Location: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, etc.).
Needs to go to the production area frequently.
Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/lab environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
English communication skills in verbal and written forms.
Problem-solving skills, able to coordinate persons from different departments for quick resolution of quality issues.
Data analysis ability, able to identify potential quality issues as early as possible.
Familiarity with basic quality tools and quality improvement tools such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, etc.
Creative ability, technical skills, and independent judgment ability.
Proficient PC skills, capable of presenting quality issues and reports using Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to follow equipment calibration requirements and processes.
Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 requirements and internal auditor certification is preferred.
Understanding of ESD & Cleanroom practices.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
5 - 7 years of work experience in manufacturing or quality assurance.
Experience in process quality control or engineering, preferably with knowledge of electronic product manufacturing processes.
Preferred candidates should be familiar with manual soldering & SMT background.
EDUCATION:
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering is preferred, or college graduation with five years of work experience.
