The Operations Engineer carries specific responsibilities for monitoring and recording the performance of plant and systems on the platform and for liaising with the Engineering Group on all matters associated with the Plant and systems.
Additional responsibilities for this position are varied, ranging from addressing technical issues to organizing logistical support for the Asset.
The responsibilities also extend to monitoring operating and maintenance costs, monitoring KPI's, and, whenever necessary, providing support in development of Tender plans.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitor Process plant performance.
Monitor reports generated offshore and track those KPI's associated with production uptime and performance. Prepare and present reports as directed by Operations Supt and Operations Management.
Identify process limitations in conjunction with Process engineering group and investigate feasible solutions.
Monitor Gas sales and produced liquid quality.
Review topside downtime and follow up actions utilizing 5 why RCA tools.
Attend the integrated operations planning meeting.
Liaise with both the offshore Operations Group and the Engineering Group on utility, safety and process systems operating issues.
Where necessary, represent operations in onshore risk assessments for offshore activities.
Take the lead in coordinating the response to Technical Queries and in troubleshooting issues affecting the safety or optimal productivity of the Asset.
First point of contact for Offshore regarding equipment or process failures/problems.
Regular offshore visits to liaise and investigate operational issues.
Review proposed modifications with offshore team, prior to raising management of change proposal.
Generate, plan, and coordinate the execution of minor brownfield modification / operations maintenance work packs.
Assist in development of the annual OPEX budgets.
Prepare monitor and control assigned ACV and contractor performance.
Prepare tender plans and evaluate bids for assigned contracts.
Provide support to OIM and liaise with Procurement Buyer to raise Purchase Requests for procurement of materials and services for offshore.
Optimize operational routines and execution, including optimization and updates of relevant procedures.
Support efficient and robust Integrated Activity Planning and Shutdown plans.
Identify, evaluate, and recommend new/alternative well technology with the aim to enhance reliability, improve asset integrity or reduce costs.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a BSc or MSc degree in related engineering discipline, preferably chemical engineering qualification from recognized universities.
Minimum 5 years' experience in operations. Review this requirement for Operations Engineer.
Knowledge of offshore operations.
Ability to interpret drawings and diagrams, operations, maintenance and logistics plans and reports, as well as manuals and procedures specific to the asset.
Ability to demonstrate all the necessary written, verbal and computer communication skills necessary to develop, amend and comment on documents meaningfully in the English language, and to converse with personnel at all levels both within TML and other organizations.
Have a working knowledge of industry best practices. Knowledge of TML procedural controls will be an added advantage.
