Engineering Lead (Metal Fabrication)

The Engineering Lead will oversee and manage all engineering-related activities.
This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met, optimizing fabrication processes, and driving innovation to enhance productivity and efficiency.
The Engineering Lead is also responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and supply chain, to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers to meet organizational objectives.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate team performance.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Analyze current fabrication processes and identify areas for improvement.
Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Plan and oversee engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and project scopes.
Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues during the fabrication process.
Provide technical guidance in the design, development, and execution of fabrication projects.
Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
Stay updated on advancements in metal fabrication technologies and materials.
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to align engineering goals with operational objectives.
Assist in the development of new products and prototypes, ensuring manufacturability.
Maintain accurate documentation of engineering processes, designs, and project progress.
Generate regular reports for senior management on project updates, team performance, and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in metal fabrication or a similar industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding, machining, and material properties.
Proven project management skills with experience in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
