Responsibilities: 1. Teach I Can Read Literacy courses: Working with children between the ages of 2.5 to 12 years oldTeaching pre-reading skills to children using the I Can Read systemTeaching reading and comprehension skills using the I Can Read systemConducting ad hoc replacement lessons and one-to-one lessonsTeaching I Can Read affiliated programmesTeaching writing skills, including grammar, editing, and publishingTeaching oral presentation and communication skillsHelping children develop social skills and positive classroom behaviourUsing I Can Read's positive reinforcement for classroom managementAssessing students' work actively and promptly2. Conduct Assessments: Conducting initial assessments for all prospective studentsRegularly assessing students during classes to monitor individual progressWorking alongside the assessment team to ensure the smooth running of open house eventsParticipating in Centre events and activities by communicating with parents, completing assessment forms, updating the Centre Team for new enrolments.Discussing with parents the assessment outcomes, advising the most suitable course for their child and explaining I Can Read's methodology3. Communication: Maintaining regular open communication with parents, through informal, formal and scheduled parent-teacher meetings.Keeping attendance logs for all classes taught and updating the Centre Manager when a student is ready for promotionAttending regular Learning Centre Team meetings; may also include the taking of meeting minutesUpdating progress sheets, complete term reports and Accident and Incident reports as required
