Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws, standards, and regulations.
Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management systems and policies.
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify environmental impact and improvement areas.
Oversee waste management, emissions control, and resource optimization at the plant.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare environmental reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
Lead initiatives to reduce the plant's carbon footprint and promote sustainability practices.
Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental policies and best practices.
Respond to environmental incidents and ensure timely and effective remediation.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
5-10 years of relevant experience in environmental management, with specific experience in CCGT power plants.
Certification in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Environmental Management).
In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
