Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the world's largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft's "Cloud First" mission.
Our Global Project Controls team supports the delivery of CO+I's mission and vision as the trusted advisors that deliver a definitive, responsive, and timely project controls program to all business areas via the industry's best people, work processes, systems, and tools.
This role is a field-based role for the KUALALUMPUR metro.
Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the field location.
This role is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development or equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
10+ years of experience in planning and scheduling medium sized capital projects ($50MM USD - $200MM+ USD) in data center, oil and gas or chemicals (or related process industry).
Excellent understanding of Project Planning, Earned Value Management and Key Commodity Tracking.
Excellent skills in Oracle P6 project planning software.
Strong familiarity with CPM scheduling methodology.
Familiarity with Schedule Risk Analysis.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work.
ResponsibilitiesPlanning
Develop Integrated EPC Master Schedules (IMS) for large-scale datacenter construction projects.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans.
Study delay events and their impact to the EPC schedule.
Work with clients to understand their needs.
Schedule Analysis and Reporting
Facilitate weekly schedule reviews onsite.
Analyze project schedules and validate progress.
Communicate Schedule Time Impact Assessments of schedule delay events.
Ensure compliance with MSFT reporting cadence.
