About the role:
As an Event Technical Support, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth race timing operations and providing technical support for database systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and customer-centric approaches. From managing event infrastructure to delighting customers with prompt support, this position offers a dynamic and rewarding experience for those passionate about technology and sports.
Responsibilities: Races/Sports Support: Understand and apply the concepts of races and sports to timing operations, while analyzing and managing race scenarios to ensure seamless execution. Technical Expertise: Set up and maintain timing hardware and software, provide infrastructure support with basic networking and system troubleshooting, and handle and analyze data efficiently using SQL fundamentals. Customer and Case Management: Utilize case management software to address customer inquiries and technical issues, provide exceptional customer service by resolving issues promptly and delighting customers with proactive support, and communicate effectively with clients to ensure understanding and satisfaction. Infrastructure and Networking: Understand and manage the technical infrastructure required for timing systems while troubleshooting networking issues to support system functionality. Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations while maintaining clear and effective communication with customers, event organizers, and team members. Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical and operational challenges in support scenarios, while adapting to diverse situations during races or support activities to ensure smooth outcomes. Requirements Possess at least a diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience. Have a knowledge of race and sports concepts, timing systems, and database management. Proficiency in SQL, networking, and data handling. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks effectively. Able to work on weekends as needed to support race events and ensure smooth operations. Skills and Competencies: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of timing systems, infrastructure, and database management. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving technical and operational challenges. Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to delight customers with innovative solutions and attentive service.
