About the location:
Four Seasons Langkawi Resort, voted the #1 Resort in Malaysia by Condé Nast Readers' Choice Awards 2020, is flanked by a tropical rainforest, limestone cliffs, and the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea. About the role:
The Executive Chef is a department head level position in the Food & Beverage (F&B) division, who collectively makes key operational management decisions in the F&B division along with the Director of Food and Beverage as the direct report.
What you will do:
Plan and develop hotel menus that take into account key factors such as product availability, food and service costs, current marketing conditions, and projected business volume.
Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring they meet a consistent level of quality through both production and demonstration standards.
Effectively manage labor and operating expenses by implementing strategic planning, accurate budgeting, and informed purchasing decisions.
Focus on innovative cost-control measures and revenue-generating initiatives to maximize profitability at the department, division, and hotel levels.
Oversee the selection, training, development, and performance evaluation of employees and managers in the Kitchen Department, ensuring alignment with cultural and core operational standards.
What you bring:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a culinary managerial role at a luxury hospitality environment as a department head.
Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a team, foster a positive work environment, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Ability to work closely with other departments such as Food & Beverage, Banquets, Event Management, and Marketing to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
Good knowledge in hygiene and HACCP.
