The Facilities Engineer will mostly involve in inspection and maintenance of buildings and all of its components, including the factory's compound.
Appointed as a fire safety manager/officer, responsible for developing and implementing fire safety plans, conducting fire drills, and investigating fires.
Work with local fire departments to ensure that the facility is up to code and compliant with fire regulations.
Promote environmental sustainability, such as energy-efficient practices and waste reduction programs.
Ensure the facility meets all regulatory and safety requirements.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements for all activities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular inspection and maintenance of buildings and all its structural components.
Ensure the upkeep of all building facilities, including lighting, air-conditioning, sewerage, etc.
Optimize the use of space within the building, which may involve interior layout changes.
Manage the upkeep of the factory's compound, including drainage, gate & fencing, road, and access area.
Responsible for projects, renovations, or upgrades to the building's infrastructure, such as lighting, air-conditioning system, and fire protection system.
Manage contractors, vendors, and outsource service providers for services related to building maintenance and operations.
Request, schedule, and oversee the activities of contractors working throughout the building and operations process.
Work closely with cross-functional departments to achieve departmental targets.
Able to support after normal working hours for urgent requests.
Implement and maintain safety and security measures within the building, including fire safety and emergency response plans.
Assist and involve in any drill exercises such as fire drills and emergency response.
Implement initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, such as energy-efficient practices and waste reduction programs.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements for all activities.
Ensure compliance with the Fire Services Act 1988 and the regulations under the act.
Promote and inculcate Safety & Health, Environmental, and quality awareness among employees.
Always ready to carry out any new tasks assigned from time to time by a superior.
Education Background:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent of education in Facilities Management in Civil Engineering / Electrical / Mechanical, or equivalent background.
Experience:
5 years of experience with Facilities Maintenance systems or relevant experience from manufacturing/in the related field.
Experience working in building management will be an added advantage.
Skills:
Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
Presentation skills: required to give regular presentations about activities or projects.
Experience in ensuring safety and minimizing damage from fire.
Knowledge of building maintenance (structure, drainage, sewerage, civils).
Knowledge of Civil / Electrical / Mechanical.
