Facility Manager (FM) ResponsibilitiesOversee the installation, repair, and upkeep of property, including machines, mechanical systems, buildings, and other structures.
Delegate tasks to subordinates, from painting and drywall repair to more complex activities like electrical, heating, and air-conditioning work.
Take on administrative responsibilities, including budgeting costs, negotiating contracts with product vendors, and hiring personnel.
Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities and resolution of issues quickly and effectively to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for customers.
Liaise with the Property Director, providing proposals for all existing and new facilities contracts to manage budget and expenditure.
Develop and communicate facilities management "Best Practice" and seek new initiatives and changes to protect the asset and optimise costs.
Implement and review risk management and disaster recovery policies and procedures to ensure safety and protection of the centre and its occupants.
Meet regularly with contractors, such as cleaning, security, and on-site maintenance, to ensure standards are maintained.
Develop and maintain close working relations with tenants to ensure maintenance requirements and store fittings are managed effectively.
Liaise with the security team to ensure smooth day-to-day security and coordinate risk assessments.
Organise fire training, drill practice, and first aid requirements to ensure staff are conversant with procedures and health and safety issues are managed correctly.
