Job Purpose The Finance Executive will be responsible for general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, bank matters, budgeting and preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities General Accounting, Budget and Reporting Prepare journals for month-end and year-end closing.Perform monthly bank statement reconciliation and other balance sheet reconciliation.Prepare monthly management reports and monitor income and expenditure in relation to the annual budget.Prepare the annual budget and forecasts.Liaise with auditors and government bodies on financial matters, statistics and audit.Account Receivable (AR) Ensure that all AR transactions in the School Management system is recorded in the accounting system.Review and monitor the AR aging report and follow up on the collections.Ensure and check AR statement of accounts are accurate.Account Payable (AP) Ensure that all payments are processed in accordance with the school's standard operating procedures.Perform monthly supplier statement of account reconciliations.Ensure timelines and accuracy of AP closing at month-end closing.Prepare journals and accruals for payable related matters.Fixed Assets Maintain the fixed assets register in the accounting system.Ensure all fixed assets are tagged and update the fixed assets tagging in the fixed assets register.Conduct Fixed Assets physical count.Prepare the fixed Assets schedule for management and financial reporting.Banking Ensure that the Bank signatories are updated in the Bank accounts.Liaise with the bankers on all banking matters. Job and Person Specification Essential Specification (Must-have) Minimum Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.At least 3 years of working experience in handling day-to-day finance operations and a full set of accounts.Good time management skills.Good analytical and numerical skills.Good IT skills (MS Excel skills, financial software).Able to work independently.Desirable Specification (Added advantage) 1. Knowledge of SAGE accounting software.
