Finance Manager - MalaysiaQuartzelec is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.
Reporting to the Business Manager we are now looking to recruit an experienced Finance manager with experience in accounting to work at our site in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities & AccountabilityTo ensure that the monthly reporting requirements for Quartzelec Sdn Bhd are completed in a timely manner, including any pertinent analytical reviews.
Oversee the planning, implementation, management, and execution of all financial activities within the company, encompassing business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.
Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet general ledger accounts.
Provide proactive advice and education to management on all financial aspects impacting operations.
Prepare year-end reports for Quartzelec Sdn Bhd, which include the statutory trial balance, tax and deferred tax computations, and the preparation of audited financial statements.
Diligently monitor group reporting requirements and ensure deadlines are met in accordance with Group Finance's timeline for announcements and the Annual Report.
Ensure compliance with financial reporting and taxation standards, as well as licensing and reporting requirements applicable to Malaysia and other territories, where relevant.
Support Quartzelec in performance monitoring, decision-making, budgeting, and cash flow management. Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies as necessary.
Review risk management processes and identify potential control weaknesses on an ongoing basis.
Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Arrange and lead monthly contract reviews with project managers, assisting them with the financial aspects of their projects.
Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and employee expense processes.
Coordinate with the third-party payroll provider on all payroll-related matters.
Act as a bank signatory and communicate with the bank regarding matters such as guarantees.
Undertake special assignments, ad hoc tasks, and related duties as required.
Set objectives, manage, and develop staff, particularly direct reports, while providing leadership and coaching as needed.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal AttributesThe successful applicant will possess:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification.
Demonstrated expertise in general and cost accounting, with experience in budget preparation.
A collaborative team member who possesses attention to detail, independence, a positive attitude, and adaptability to a fast-changing environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, index-match functions, etc.) and familiarity with Office 365 is preferred.
Up-to-date knowledge of approved accounting standards issued by MASB (MFRS).
