What will you be doing?
The FP&A Centre of Excellence (COE) at Smith & Nephew is dedicated to delivering quality insights and performance management, aligning with the company's Life Unlimited purpose. Within the COE, the International Business Unit Cluster FP&A Analyst is crucial in providing high-quality decision support and insights to senior cluster leadership for a specific Business Unit within the International Market.This position is responsible for core FP&A and partnering activities, including delivering the annual budget, forecasts, and appraisal cycles. The role demands a blend of strong process management and commercial acumen, with the successful candidate encouraged to represent the finance business partner on most commercial topics. Close collaboration with Controllers & GBS is crucial to ensure comprehensive finance delivery to management.Reporting to the FP&A Director – International Business Unit, the analyst will contribute to continuously improving FP&A and budgeting processes, ensuring detailed delivery within a matrix organization. The role requires strong English and communication skills, flexibility to balance priorities, and a genuine collaborative approach, focusing on enterprise-first thinking and a learning mindset.What will you need to be successful?
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, with a CPA or ACCA certification preferred but not required. They should have 3-5 years of experience in commercial finance or FP&A, with a comprehensive understanding of full P&L support. Prior experience in the healthcare industry and supporting senior business leadership teams in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting is highly desirable.Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP and Oracle), consolidation/BI systems, and planning tools (specifically TM1 and Hyperion/HFM) is essential. Sophisticated Excel skills are vital to handle and lead data efficiently. The candidate must possess outstanding strategic, numerical, and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.Key proficiencies include the ability to develop long-term relationships with diverse stakeholders, expertise in transformation, project, and change management within a finance business partnering environment, and the ability to influence and communicate credibly at a senior level. The candidate should be capable of working independently across multiple initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and authoritatively challenging the business when appropriate.You. Unlimited.
