Tasks & responsibilities
Develop new products and enhance existing fresh food and ready-to-eat offerings.
Stay updated with market trends, product innovations, and new food technologies.
Conduct taste tests to ensure products meet market demands for taste, texture, and presentation.
Collaborate with the team to improve flavor profiles and carry out sensory evaluations.
Work alongside marketing and technical teams on new projects, products, and processes.
Track project progress and ensure alignment with targets and timelines.
Gather food regulatory information, innovative ingredients, and process insights to align R&D efforts with company strategies.
Partner with QA and safety teams to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Create and maintain work instructions, recipes, ingredient lists, nutritional facts, and other project-related documents.
Ensure accurate maintenance of test reports, records, and quality documentation.
Manage the R&D department's budget and oversee daily activities in the lab.
Provide operational support to ensure food product development aligns with daily operational needs.
Travel as needed to support product development, visit suppliers, or attend industry events.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in food product development, preferably in fresh food or ready-to-eat products.
Strong understanding of food trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with sensory evaluation, taste testing, and flavor profile development.
Knowledge of food safety and quality assurance standards.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong project management skills, including tracking progress and meeting deadlines.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ability to manage budgets and oversee daily lab activities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software (e.g., recipe management, data analysis tools).
Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for effective communication within our multinational team.
Willingness to travel as required for product development and operational support.
