Duty & Responsibility – To manage and lead the function of R&D Dept. Managing assigned R&D Projects & Activities from development of formulation, prototype, specification, labelling information, processing's critical and quality parameters & establishing relevant process SOP, quality criteria, shelf-life determination and product stability validation, formulation issuance to Core Centre, factory trials until commercial production for market launch and improvement.To work with relevant departments on product costings for New Product Development.To review and verify trial run, thermal processing validation, shelf-life validation protocol and report, sensory evaluation report and cooking instructions (if printed on label/package) validation report.To review on lab test results, verify Hazards analysis and risk-based assessment for new material/ingredient, new processing steps involved in NPD. Further, to conduct sensory evaluation, food tasting & application tests.To work closely with Marketing and Production teams on NPD projects and, provide technical advice/concern on product regulatory compliance for intended country of Sale and targeted market.To securely manage confidential R&D documentation, company intellectual property, and properly maintain all NPD records & technical document according to company policies.To participate in HALAL, HACCP and ISO22000 audit discussion as and when necessary.To provide timely report to management.To perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the management. Requirement: Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.Have good understanding of ingredient functionality and inter relationship of ingredients, process, and packaging.Well-verse (written and verbal) in English, Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin.Good analytical and technical skills. Good knowledge in food safety and regulation is a plus.Able to work independently, multi taskings, and result oriented.
