Enggang (Pekan) Sdn Bhd operates a peat swamp forest conservation project in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. We are looking for senior field officers who will focus on supporting the development and implementation of our forest conservation program including field activities, stakeholder engagement and awareness raising activities, with a focus on fire prevention and hydrology management. They will report to the Field Manager.
Responsibilities Support planning of programs to monitor forest degradation and fire, and collection of data on forest inventory, hydrology and biodiversity.Support forest conservation and fire mitigation program, protocol development and implementation to comply with government regulations.Undertake regular patrols in and around the project site, maintaining and updating records of all such activities.Undertake field activities such as data collection in the forest and supporting fire-brigade in wildland fire suppression. Establish relationships with and build awareness of project objectives including forest conservation and fire mitigation among local stakeholders such as plantations and local communities.Support community involvement in the project's forest conservation, canal blocking and fire mitigation program.Uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics and professionalism when engaging stakeholders.Implement safe practices of field activities in full compliance with the company's HSSE standards. Requirements At least Diploma (D3) degree in agriculture, environment, forestry or equivalent.At least 3 year of field experience in forestry, conservation or plantation industries.Strong communications and organizational skills.Eager to learn and practice HSSE requirements within the company.Currently based in Pekan or willing to relocate on own expense.
