Job Summary Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas is seeking a seasoned General Manager to lead our Maintenance & Repair department.
This key role involves driving performance, quality, and efficiency in equipment maintenance and repair operations, including Quay Cranes, RTGs, and mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development : Lead a high-performing team to achieve operational goals, focusing on equipment availability, reliability, and safety.
Mentor direct reports, foster succession planning, and collaborate with HR to address skills gaps and enhance staff competencies.
Budget Management : Effectively manage CAPEX and OPEX within approved budgets, ensuring resource efficiency and cost control.
Way of Working Transformation : Champion initiatives such as Operational Systems, Lean for All, Safety Management Systems, and Digital Transformation to align with departmental objectives and enhance long-term operational efficiency.
Operational & Strategic Planning : Set and communicate clear goals for the department and oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets, aligning resources with terminal equipment reliability and availability goals.
Reporting & Communication : Provide detailed, timely reports to the Head of Division and Senior Management Team (SMT).
Establish effective communication with Operations to minimize equipment downtime and ensure alignment on maintenance priorities.
Equipment Performance Oversight : Oversee machinery performance, seeking continual improvement in efficiency and safety standards in alignment with international best practices.
Health, Safety & Environment : Ensure compliance with HSE policies and international safety standards for machinery.
Contractor Management : Oversee contractors to ensure service quality and performance align with business requirements.
Internal Collaboration : Foster interdepartmental communication within the Engineering & Facilities Division to streamline operations and promote a cohesive work environment.
Qualifications Education : Bachelors degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience : 15+ years in engineering roles within a container terminal environment, with substantial leadership experience.
Technical & Operational Knowledge : In-depth understanding of terminal equipment maintenance best practices and global standards.
Strong working knowledge of container terminal operations and asset management.
Global Asset Maintenance Strategy : Proven capability to set, implement, and manage a comprehensive global asset maintenance strategy.
CBM & AI Proficiency : Familiarity with Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications to enhance asset maintenance strategies and optimize equipment performance.
Strategic & Analytical Skills : Proven ability to develop strategic plans and drive analytical solutions.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong reporting capabilities.
Financial Acumen : Proficient in budget preparation and financial management relevant to engineering operations.
