We are seeking an experiencedGrade 2 - Steam Engineerto join our team. This position involves understanding boiler operations, safety regulations, and industry standards, maintaining accurate logs, ensuring safety devices and alarms are functioning, conducting routine inspections, reviewing logbooks, and monitoring boiler machines.
Job Responsibilities:
Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to boiler operations, including compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment 2022) 1994 Act and best practices for safe operation.
Understanding the principles of steam generation, boiler types, and their operational characteristics, including safety mechanisms and controls.
Maintain accurate logs of operational conditions, maintenance performed, and any incidents or irregularities.
Ensure all safety devices and alarms are functioning properly and comply with safety regulations.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boiler systems and auxiliary equipment.
Review and comment on the daily boilerman's logbook and conduct daily toolbox meetings with shift boilermen.
Control and monitor boiler machines, including maintaining the boiler's operational data and safety aspects.
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the superior.
Provide training and guidance to operations on safe operating procedures, maintenance, and emergency protocols, etc.
Work closely with the shift team and steam boiler operators.
Job Requirements :
Qualification :
Valid Grade 2 - Steam Engineer certification (or equivalent) recognized by local authorities.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification
Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in steam operations in an Oil and Gas Refinery.
Strong knowledge of steam boilers, turbines, and related equipment.
Experience with steam system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair.
Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations pertaining to steam operations.
Ability to work in high-pressure environments and perform under tight deadlines.
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
