Teaching ExperienceAt least 2 years previous teaching experience teaching Art and/or Graphic Communication at the secondary level with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) or equivalent. Experience teaching in an English curriculum is desirable.
About the roleWe are seeking an experienced teacher of Graphic Communication and/or Art who can ideally teach both subjects at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with the ability to teach at A-Level standard in at least one subject. The successful candidate will challenge students to set ambitious targets, inspire them with creative skills, and utilise innovative teaching practices to enhance student experiences and outcomes.
Key Requirements for Graphic Communication and Art Teacher Position:Mastery of Traditional Media and Materials:Expertise in working with a diverse range of traditional art materials and techniques.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite:Confident in using Adobe software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Proficiency with Drawing Apps:Familiarity with software and techniques for digital drawing and painting.
Confidence in Digital Sketchbook Management:Guiding students in the use of digital online sketchbooks.
Curriculum Development:Ability to develop engaging and comprehensive curriculum plans that adhere to AQA standards.
Supporting School Events and Enrichment:Actively participate in school events and advocate for the importance of the arts within the school community.
About youWith a university degree in your specialist subject and a teaching qualification, you will have considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. You will be keen to share best practices with colleagues and be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents.
