The Capital Market Advisory Committee (CMAC) as well as providing support to theInstitute, Council and MIA members.
Manages the Capital Market Advisory Committees (CMAC) in terms of preparation ofmeetings, agenda papers and other supporting documents
Oversees the publication of Exposure Drafts (ED) under AASB, ESB and CMAC andcollates comments from members and other regulators and preparation of finaldocument/ submission either for approval of MIA Council and/ or submission to BursaMalaysia, Securities Commission, IAASB and/ or IESBA on a timely basis.
Updates the MIA website on the latest pertaining to the auditing standards, By-Laws andMalaysian Investment Reporting Standards (MIRS) to ensure that information is up todate and the FAQ remains relevant.
Oversees the publication of the Board's annual reports and various guidance materials(including non-authoritative guidance materials) from time to time.
Conducts outreaches (virtual and/ or physical) to promote better adoption of standards(including By-Laws) and collates feedback on the standards.
Oversees the delivery of various projects and training approved by the Capital Market
Development Fund (CMDF) carried out by CMAC or other committees and manages thenecessary claims on a 6 monthly basis. Half yearly reports for the CMDF are also requiredto be prepared and submitted to the CMDF on a timely basis
Facilitates courses from time-to-time, for e.g., the Public Practice Programs and specificCPD training programs
Manages KPIs on a quarterly basis and reports on them to the MIA Council on a quarterlybasis.
Writes articles (or co-authors) as part of the departmental KPIs on an annual basis in thearea of audit and assurance, By-Laws and certain capital market development.
Provides input to the Professional Development (PD) Dept from time to time to assistwith the organization of conferences such as the Capital Market Conference, PublicPractice Program and the Members Induction program and also moderates or participatesas a panellist in some of these sessions
Conducts outreaches to universities and colleges from time to time as an invitedspeaker
Contributes to the press releases from time to time, for e.g., on budget announcements,final pronouncement of the IESBA Codes, MIRS etc.
Reviews and answers technical enquiries in accordance with MIA's standing polices &procedures.
Requirements :
Professional qualification or a Degree in Accountancy
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with public listed entities ormajor/medium-sized firm of accountants
Able to conduct research and solve technical queries/issues
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, results oriented and able to work independently
Confident, able to inspire and influence others positively
