Formulate strategies for the growth of the Centre for Pre-University Studies.
To be accountable for the overall management, budget and profitability of the Centre.
To develop strategies for student recruitment, retention and achievement.
• To be responsible for quality assurance and maintain academic standards of all programmes within the Centre.
• To plan programme structures, academic calendars and academic manpower development for the faculty and to ensure these are achieved.
• To ensure existing programmes are current with regular curriculum review.
• To manage and coordinate teaching, tutorials, counseling schedules and examination timetables.
• To undertake teaching duties as when necessary.
• To monitor closely the attrition and graduation on time of students, and take necessary remedial actions to prevent it.
• To evaluate academic staff in the performance of their teaching duties and provide guidance in the improvement of their responsibilities.
• To receive and review students' feedback on the services provided and to take corrective action where necessary.
Requirements:
• Possess Master's Degree/ PhD in relevant areas with at least 10 years working experience in academia of which at least 3 years holding an academic leadership position.
• Demonstrated high level academic and/or professional leadership experience.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and administrative skills.
• Ability to define problems and provide valid conclusions to solve problems and plan initiatives.
• Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with others in a team environment consisting of academic and admin support staff.
• Experience in student management.
• Ability to manage a number of competing demands.
