King Thai & Chinese Food, a new halal Thai and Chinese restaurant in Penang, is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead the Chinese & Thai cuisine team at our Bandar Perda Penang location.
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Chinese and Thai kitchen, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.
What you'll be doing
Develop and implement creative, authentic halal Thai & Chinese cuisine menus that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the restaurant's brand and customer preferences.
Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, quality control, and staff supervision.
Collaborate with the management team to ensure efficient workflow, cost-effectiveness, and inventory management.
Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver exceptional customer service and culinary experiences.
Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
Continuously research industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and keep the restaurant's offerings fresh and appealing.
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role, with a proven track record of managing a Thai and Chinese cuisine kitchen.
Formal culinary training or certification, with a deep understanding of traditional Chinese cooking techniques and flavour profiles.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Proficient in cost control, inventory management, and budget planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the management team and customers.
