Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities.
That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to: Commercial Strategy Development: Formulate and implement commercial strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, freight forwarders, and industry partners.
Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored cargo solutions.
Sales and Marketing: Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive business development efforts.
Develop and execute marketing initiatives to promote cargo services and enhance brand visibility.
Pricing and Revenue Management: Establish competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Monitor pricing structures and adjust as necessary based on market conditions and operational costs.
Performance Analysis: Track and analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Prepare and present reports on commercial performance to senior management.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery and align commercial goals with operational capabilities.
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Conduct training and development programs to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the sales team.
Requirements SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS These are minimum-requirement skills and a 'must-have' for the role: (If any, otherwise you can skip) Strong and proven understanding and network of the local and regional cargo air-freight landscape Strategic business development and planning Client relationship management Market analysis and competitive research Team leadership and development Sales and negotiation expertise These are minimum-requirement skills and a 'must-have' for the role: (If any, otherwise you can skip) Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
8-10 years of business development experience, with at least 5 years in air cargo logistics or freight forwarding.
Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and closing deals.
Extensive network in the cargo, logistics, and air freight industries in Malaysia or the APAC region.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
