Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to oversee and lead the overall operations of the Engineering department.
The role demands expertise in managing technical projects, regulatory compliance, equipment maintenance, and stakeholder relationships, with the objective of ensuring optimal operational efficiency and zero breakdowns in the plant.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning, organizing, and controlling of the Engineering's overall operations.
Establish and maintain procedures to ensure inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, and equipment are managed efficiently.
Ensure sound technical decisions are being made within the team.
Drive strategic decisions about organizational, technical, or business investments.
Author, lead, or adopt new open-source technologies for the organization.
Manage internal stakeholder relationships through regular meetings.
Develop, maintain, and leverage working relationships with management, employees, and vendors for any civil, electrical, or mechanical works executed in the plant.
Participate with corporate management in formulating long-range plans, goals, and objectives for the company.
Participate in developing and administering the capital and major maintenance budget (Opex and Capex).
Build and grow a team of expert engineers to deliver class service and achieve targets with zero breakdown (Preventive Maintenance, Calibration, and other related Engineering department tasks).
Oversee process/packing and engineering/utility/AHU's/water systems.
Responsible for the development and adoption of government regulations related to DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, GMP, OSHA, ISO, PCI, WHO standards, and audits.
Manage resources within pre-defined budgets and timelines, adjusting budgets based on changing company priorities.
Monitor and maintain optimum operation levels of machines/equipment, HVAC systems, Purified Water Systems (PWS), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), and other facility equipment.
Develop and adopt continuous improvement projects (OEE/Breakdown management/TPM energy-saving projects, etc.).
Review and approve Engineering documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, drawings, CAPAs, investigation reports, and technical agreements.
Ensure successful design, equipment installation, operational, and performance qualification on equipment and facilities.
Oversee in-house and greenfield project design review and execution.
Update facility drawings as per in-house or expansion-related changes.
Communicate with all relevant intercompany contacts; provide adequate information and consult appropriate persons in case of problems.
Handle dosage forms, prioritizing tablets and capsules.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in engineering management, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing (OSD forms like tablets/capsules).
Open to non-Malaysian candidates with relevant experience.
Skills:
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of GMP, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.
